En este libro se trata de los estudios lingüísticos sobre lenguas de México (español y lenguas amerindias) a partir de la Independencia. Se busca contribuir con un primer esquema de la historia de la lingüística mexicana, en que se destacan autores, obras y corrientes de pensamiento entre 1810 y el presente.
