Life and work of polemic architect and urbanist Meyer (b. Switzerland), one of the most important functionalists of the 1920's. The former director of the Bauhaus, he worked for the Post-Revolutionary Regimes in Mexico as the director of the Instituto del Urbanismo y Planification from 1942 through 1949, while also becoming the editor of the collective graphic workshop Taller de Grafica Popular (TGP) from 1947 to 1949. Many plates of his architectural designs and the structural diagrams Meyer used for the Bauhaus and in IUP in Mexico.

Este libro destaca el rol de los arquitectos que, agrupados en asociación gremial, fueron capaces de impulsar, en un periodo de 35 años (1907-1942), cinco grandes iniciativas: la creación del Colegio de Arquitectos, el apoyo a la formación de Facultades de Arquitectura, la participación en los Congresos Panamericanos de Arquitectos, la aprobación de reglamentos de edificación y la publicación de revistas.

Contribución al conocimiento de las controversias que se crearon en torno a la cultura urbanística de los años ochenta del siglo pasado. Pretende esbozar, de una manera sintética y ordenada, las reflexiones teóricas y las ideas que se forjaron en aquella época, donde el urbanismo se convirtió en símbolo de la política municipal.
