Architectural guide to the city of Guadalajara, with a selection of close to 300 buildings representative of all time periods. The guide is divided in 3 sections: the first, the largest and medullar part of the book is the presentation of the buildings; a second section is an inventory of buildings important in the history of the city but now disappeared, and a third section includes location maps with recommended itineraries and routes. Each entry includes the name, date and brief history of the building and the name of the architect.

The first part is devoted to architecture and monuments from Pre-Columbian , colonial, 19th and 20th century, with emphasis on Pre-Columbian cultures. Este libro estudia las posibilidades que tiene la estructura - es decir, vigas, pilares, entramados, soportes y otros elementos- para enriquecer la arquitectura. Lo que se busca aquí es que los arquitectos perciban la estructura como un elemento integral de la arquitectura antes que como una simple técnica aplicada. También se pretende incitarlos a que diseñen estructuras ellos mismos, en colaboración desde luego con los calculistas de estructuras, para así poder hacer realidad sus ideas arquitectónicas.
