A bordo del patio de vecindad

The book is an historic and graphical account of the patios of "vecindad" (neighbourhood) in the port city of Veracruz, in a period that goes from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. The foreword of this edition, states that the first record of a patio of a "vecindad" dates back to 1791, highlighting that those patios have seen the early years of musician and singer "Toña la Negra" and were the place of origin of the famous "picadas" from Veracruz, one of the most popular snacks of the jarocha traditional cuisine.

Describes the degree and license mechanisms for the professional practice of architecture in Peru from the first courses in the 19th century through the beginning of the 20th century, with a detailed presentation of the school formation of the architects from 1910 to 1950 in the School of Engineering of the university. The book was originally the author's masters thesis and won the prize "Héctor Velarde" during the XI Bienal Nacional de Arquitectura, organized in 2004 by CAP.

Un 10 de abril de 1981 comenzaron a publicarse estas críticas, primero fueron planteos donde la ciudad era mostrada en sus sectores diferenciados, luego apareció el edificio como entidad juzgada. Para nuestro solaz, curiosidad o develación urbanística, estos incansables excursionistas han husmeado cuanto patio de conventillo, monumento, esquina, pizzería o musa de arrabal hubieron encontrado en sus entrañables yirajes. Lo que los nuevos aguafuertistas descubren en estos sitios, trasciende la mera descripción de los lugares, para hurgar en los rituales, mitos, personajes, huellas...

A través de la observación directa, el desarrollo de un cuestionario y la diagramación de las zonas de estancia preferentes, se ha obtenido una interesante documentación, que presenta el libro, que permite relacionar la experiencia de este grupo de usuarios en este contexto, con pautas de diseño para estos entornos y possibles nuevos productos que pueden favorecer la calidad de vida en estos lugares
