Que Es Un Acuerdo? (What Is Compromise?)

Equality is a contentious issue in our society today. This is why it's important for students to be given information related to equality so they can come to reasonable conclusions of their own. Using age-appropriate language, this book discusses equality in a number of different forms and touches upon why equality is so important in a democracy. The text also explores how extreme equality, like most extremes, could be a bad and unrealistic idea. Readers will gain enough information to understand and think about this complex idea for themselves.

In the United States, the ability to take informed action is becoming increasingly necessary, and difficult. This book delves into the importance of being informed and explains how not all sources of information are equal. Readers are introduced to the scientific method as a way of testing information for credibility. Students will also learn how to turn credible information into action by forming groups, protesting, contacting elected representatives, and possibly even running for office themselves someday.

We propose a study of selected texts by the French sociologist Gilles Lipovetsky. We will analyze some of the key texts of this author, namely: from "Paradoxical happiness (essay on consumer society)", chapter 4 and "The empire of the ephemeral", chapters 4 and 5. In addition, the texts "Private space and public space in the postmodern era" and "Private space and the revolution of autonomy".
