Ideario español, de Mariano José de Larra, es una descarnada disección de la España del siglo XIX, de los fallos de un mundo atrapado en el tradicionalismo, la corrupción y la ineficacia de un gobierno condenado al fracaso. Larra atacó las costumbres groseras de la España del siglo XIX en (“El castellano viejo”), la indolencia de los funcionarios (“Vuelva usted mañana”) o los espectáculos tradicionales (“Los toros”) e introdujo a veces rasgos de humor que no ocultaron su pesimismo. La actualidad de este libro puede asombrar al lector de hoy.
