Antonio Portela Lopa nació en Aljaraque (Huelva) en 1978. Estudió filología hispánica en Salamanca. Está terminando en la Universidad de Venecia su doctorado sobre los mitos del cine en la literatura. Dogos es su segundo libro de poesía. Con el primero ganó el premio Andalucía Joven en 2002. En prosa ha publicado también Ciudadano romano, escrito durante su estancia en 2004 y 2005 como becario en la Academia de España en Roma. Dogos ha sido la ganadora del Premio José de Espronceda de Poesía Ciudad de Almendralejo 2010
