The book is devoted to young architect Christian Wiese's architecture firm, presenting a selection of buildings that reflect international tendencies harmoniously combined with Ecuador's heritage and values. His already prolific and international well recognized practice includes technologically advanced buildings, characteristic for their clarity and transparency and unique for his masterly manipulation of interior and exterior space light interaction.

The present edition publishes part of the research papers presented during the "Seminario de Investigación Arquitectura para la Producción" organized by the university of Michoacán between 2001 and 2002 that included the participation of national and international academics. The book gathers 23 collective and individual multidisciplinary works that examine from various perspectives the history of architecture in rural areas.
