En agosto de 1922, vencido el ejército griego tras la campaña en Asia Menor, los turcos entraron en los territorios griegos de Jonia. Los varones de entre 18 y 45 años fueron obligados a permanecer en el país y a formar parte de los llamados “batallones de trabajo”. “El número 31328” es la crónica de las experiencias vividas por Venezis en los batallones de trabajo -y de exterminio- de septiembre de 1922 a finales de 1923.

This study breaks new ground in García Márquez studies by focusing on the author's journalistic writings between 1948 and 1955. By using a combination of modern critical methods, including narratology, dialogism and transtextuality, this study shows how García Márquez' early journalism laid the foundations for his later fiction writing. Seeking to understand the economic relations between author and publisher, this study analyzes the place of Roberto Bolaño in the Latin American literary canon through the texts of Jorge Herralde. After showing how the work of the 1998 Premio Herralde winner has been commodified, Lèal offers a critical reading of the writer figure, as represented in three key moments of Bolaño’s short story production.
