Chico Paco, nicknamed Barbasco, has lived a precarious existence since he was a child. Orphaned, he suffered the hunger and misery of the peasant. As an adult, he suffered humiliation and helplessness before a boss and an administrator skilled in exploiting him.The owners of farms and haciendas make the peasant youth the victim of their appetites.Nature is at times beautiful, propitious for man; sometimes it is barren, eroded and poor.The reader experiences the anguish and pain of the peasant.
