Por este libro desfilan los monstruos, ogros y brujas más estrafalarios, que se describen con un lenguaje poético enriquecido por la sonoridad y la ritmicidad de sus imágenes, capaces de encantar el oído infantil y motivar su imaginación. Es por ello, que el humor sale a flote a cada paso y conducen al niño a "reírse de miedo", cada vez que los personajes nacidos del folclor universal se hacen chiquitos e inofensivos.
